ABOUT ME…

I am foremost a creative with a three-decade background as a dancer and choreographer. My artistic journey has led me to discover the profound catharsis offered by photography, which has become an integral part of my life. As a dedicated mother of three and a cherished Nonna to a magical granddaughter, family holds a special place in my heart. My artistic pursuits are driven by my love for experimenting with light and creating unique images.

Photography has been a dynamic force in my life, starting unexpectedly out of necessity during my time as a small coffee shop owner. As I delved into capturing the essence of my shop to attract more patrons, I realized my growing passion for visual storytelling. This path led me to collaborate with Buttermilk Sky Pie as their creative director during their expansion into franchising, allowing me to carve a space for myself in the world of commercial photography. Seeking to refine my craft, I pursued classes at the non-accredited program at the University of Tennessee, an enriching experience that broadened my technical skills and creative perspective. When the COVID-19 pandemic led me to step away from teaching ballet after three fulfilling decades, I sought solace in the art of photography as a means of self-expression and creativity, embarking on a new chapter that felt instinctive and deeply rewarding.

Fine Art Photography

I stumbled upon an amazing group of local photographers and was warmly welcomed into their midst. With their valuable contacts in printing, galleries, and the local art scene, along with the unwavering support from family and friends, I embarked on my journey as a fine art photographer. The highlight of this journey was undoubtedly my first gallery at the RED Gallery in Old City, Knoxville. This pivotal moment opened doors for my work to be displayed at esteemed venues such as the Phoenix Gallery, Maple Hall, the Knoxville Airport Gallery, and the Art Emporium, and the DogWood Arts Festival. The recognition received from the Pas de Deux Photography competition and a local award for juror's merit has been immensely gratifying. Despite the occasional feeling of being an imposter, witnessing the evolution of my art has been a thrilling and rewarding experience. Select images are available for purchase in my fine art tab, allowing others to bring a piece of this evolution into their own lives.
